Job Purpose:

The Transport Officer is responsible for managing the daily vehicle movement, ensuring the efficient and safe transportation of vehicles, clients, and goods. The role involves coordinating rentals and returns, supervising drivers, monitoring vehicle conditions, and ensuring compliance with transport regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and dispatch rental vehicles as per booking schedules.
• Supervise and monitor driver activities, ensuring adherence to routes, schedules, and safety standards.
• Maintain an updated fleet inventory, including mileage logs, service records, and availability status.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and in good condition.
• Ensure timely servicing, maintenance, and repairs of vehicles in collaboration with the maintenance team.
• Monitor vehicle usage and fuel consumption, and prepare periodic reports.
• Handle client inquiries regarding transport services and vehicle issues.
• Ensure all transport operations comply with road safety regulations and company procedures.
• Assist in investigating vehicle incidents and accidents and prepare incident reports.
• Liaise with insurance companies, regulatory bodies, and service providers as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Transport and Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in fleet or transport management, preferably in the car rental industry.
• Valid driver’s license (Class B or above).
• Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and road safety standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management systems.
