This is a full-time, on-site role as a senior diesel (truck) mechanic at All-Around Auto Zambia Limited in Chambishi. Our company performs maintenance work for a fleet of over 300 long-haul trucks in our workshop and we are looking for junior, intermediate (mid-level), and senior mechanics to join our maintenance department. The ideal candidate will be required to maintain and repair various trucks including but not limited to Volvo, Mercedes Benz, Sacman, Sinotruk, and Beiben (Powerstar).

The responsibilities of the mechanic include but are not limited to the following responsibilities:

• Inspecting heavy trucks for proper performance, and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
• Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hands and power tools
• Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on trucks
• Maintain records of the maintenance and repairs carried out.
• Carry out engine and gearbox overhauls according to OEM standards.

Qualifications

– Full Grade Twelve school certificate

– Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Diesel Mechanic

– Valid driving license

– Strong attention to detail.

– Ability to work independently and in a team.

– Able to work on Saturdays and during public holidays if needed.

– Familiarity with both Cummins and Weichai engines is a requirement.

– Previous experience in a logistics company with more than 100 trucks is an advantage.
