ROLE OF THE POSITION (Brief statement about the purpose of the position):
-
Operation of Turbine 1 &2 and these auxiliaries to meet the requirement for Turbine.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Maintain Generation on units as per approved export power schedule.
-
Monitoring all running equipment parameters.
-
Identification of deviation in Turbine operation parameters and take appropriate action for normalization.
-
Operation of CW, ACW, Cooling Tower fans and monitoring CT Sump level.
-
Operation of Firefighting system, Monitoring Clarified water storage tank and CST levels.
-
Operation HVAC systems.
-
Log all parameters periodically and noting down all the activities taken place during shift.
-
Coordinate with Field operators and guiding correct directions to them.
-
Monitoring flows of water and steam, reference with Heat and Mass balance diagrams.
-
Coordinating with Boiler Desk operation engineer to get required input parameters from Boiler.
-
Adhere to all laid down Safety, Health and Environmental standards, practices and procedures.
-
Registering defects in defects register.
-
Informing all abnormalities being faced to Shift Charge Engineer.
-
Check Healthiness of all standby equipment and work place and ensuring complete availability of the same.
-
Analyzation for root cause of the abnormalities / trips & suggesting corrective actions
SECONDARY ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

Ensuring good housekeeping in control room
-
Forecast problems and taking prior remedial actions.
-
Suggesting Heat rate improvement ideas.
-
Working towards reduction of auxiliary consumption & DM water consumptions.
-
Targeting to reduction of startup fuel consumption.
-
Suggesting for ease of operational requirements.
-
Attend training and refresher classes.
-
Proving the training classes.

Knowledge on thermal power plant operation

Turbine DCS hands on experience.

Knowledge on Turbine normal, emergency and startup operations.

EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY BACKGROUND :
-
5-10 years in Turbine operation of Thermal Power Plants
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION : B.E/B.tech in Mechanical Engineering
