Underwriter

Job Description: Prosper Zambia is looking for an experienced Underwriter to evaluate and approve insurance applications. The Underwriter will assess risks, determine policy terms, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze insurance applications and assess risk factors.
Determine coverage amounts, policy terms, and premiums.
Review and approve or decline insurance applications based on risk assessment.
Maintain and update underwriting guidelines and procedures.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve underwriting issues.

Requirements:

Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Good understanding of insurance policies and risk management.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, or a related field.

Skills:

Proficiency in underwriting software and tools.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in underwriting or a similar role.
