Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (6 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Travel to attend official training as needed.
As Voucher Examiner, the incumbent provides voucher examination services to ensure timely and accurate voucher payments for travel, vendor and representational expenses, etc. s/he liaises with the bank to resolve any issues related to electronic payments and interacts with certain vendor’s accounts receivable departments. S/he is also Post’s POC when vouchers are processed centrally by the Global Financial Center. The incumbent will manage invoice document flow as part of designated billing office assigned to the Financial Management Office. Position is supervised by the Senior Voucher Examiner.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Government Accounting principles and Financial Management standards and procedures is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be highly computer literate: solid command of Excel and Windows. Must possess good mathematical and organizational skills. Must enjoy working with details and routine tasks. Strong sense of customer service. Interpersonal skills. Able to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.

A “certification” is any written document from the armed forces that certifies the service member is expected to be discharged or released from active duty service in the armed forces under honorable conditions within 120 days after the certification is submitted by the applicant. The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service. Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.
** This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.
