Summary of purpose

This role provides an excellent opportunity to receive on the job training and gain experience in Warehousing, Storage & Distribution. The post holder will train and be required to participate in all aspects of the warehouse. This role is busy and hands on which requires excellent attention for detail whilst working at a fast pace. The job will include manual handling duties, and therefore you must be able to conduct manual handling up to the limits specified by the HSE.

Main duties/responsibilities

• To assist other workers in loading and unloading goods.
• To assist in receiving goods inwards, check and inspect goods received ensuring they are of accurate quantity, type, and acceptable quality.
• To carry out regular stock takes and quality control.
• To pick and pack orders to be despatched to customer.
• To ensure compliance with Health & Safety Regulations.
• To contribute actively as a member of the warehouse staff team, working towards developing and improving our services and operations.
• To undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the role as requested by the Operation/Warehouse Manager.
• Driving – deliveries within Lusaka and across Zambia as required.

Skills required.

• A keen interest in Warehouse, Storage & Distribution
• Excellent team player
• Personable with good customer service and communication skills
• Good levels of Maths and English
• Willing to perform a variety of duties within the warehouse and office.
• Able to lift and carry breakable inventories.
• Be punctual, have a responsible attitude and work to deadlines.
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
• Driver’s licence preferably class C1 and 2+ years driving experience a must.
• Must be Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
