Job Description

A reputable Food processing company based on the Copperbelt is seeking qualified individuals to fill the following vacancy:

WORKSHOP FOREMAN – 2 YEARS FTC (RENEWABLE BASED ON PERFORMANCE)

The incumbent will be responsible for supervising a vehicle maintenance workshop to ensure that the company’s vehicles are effectively maintained and serviced.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise staff in the workshop to ensure that they are appropriately trained and motivated and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.
Oversee all vehicle maintenance operations to ensure that company vehicles are effectively maintained and serviced.
Develop and implement maintenance service schedules to ensure that repairs and maintenance are carried out efficiently and at the appropriate times to minimize vehicle downtime.
Monitor vehicle performance post- service or repairs.
Negotiate contracts for vehicle maintenance as required and ensure that all contractual obligations are met to the required standards.
Account for tools and equipment in his/her care.
Adhere to procedures for spare parts ordering systems.
Provide technical advice on vehicles and trailers to managers and staff to ensure that specifications are met, and the company complies with legal requirements.
Develop and monitor the operation of all necessary systems and procedures to ensure that vehicle and workshop safety standards are adhered to.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12 certificate
Diploma in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a busy workshop
Excellent planning skills
Ability to work under pressure and for extended hours
