Atosh Transport Limited is a Zambian company managed by a diverse and highly efficient team prepared to meet all demands in transportation services. Atosh Transport was incorporated on 21 st September 1989 and during that time has accumulated a vast experience in this sector. The company is running a good fleet of trucks engaged in both dry and wet (fuel) cargo.
Therefore, the Company invites applications from highly motivated, result-oriented, suitably qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacancy:
Position: Workshop Manager
Report: Fleet : General Manager
Location: Lusaka
Key Responsibilities
Workshop Management:
Supervise and manage all activities within the maintenance/workshop department.
Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, including repair and maintenance of the fleet.
Recruit, train, and lead a team of technicians and mechanics.
Provide guidance and support to ensure efficient and high-quality work.
Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
Ensure timely repairs and servicing of all vehicles to minimize downtime.
Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies, ensuring availability for maintenance and repairs.
Establish procurement processes for necessary workshop supplies.
Ensure the workshop and maintenance operations adhere to all safety regulations and HSSEQ standards.
Conduct safety training and enforce safety protocols for all workshop personnel.
Implement quality control measures to maintain high repair and maintenance standards.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality of work.
Monitor and control departmental expenses to optimize cost-effectiveness.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining quality.
Maintain workshop equipment and tools in good working order.
Evaluate the need for upgrades or replacements as necessary.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs for each vehicle.
Provide regular reports on the condition of the fleet and workshop operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.
Proven experience in maintenance and workshop management, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Able to use diagnostic tools and software’s
Computer Literacy
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair processes, and safety regulations.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Good reporting skills
Knowledge of HSSEQ standards and their application in workshop operations.
